Wow, how many times can you make three different publicists happy with one post? Maybe that says something about an album announcement. I had three different companies send me three different emails, all offering something unique having to do with the band Suckers. Even though I already liked them, and planned to announce this record, the tasteful onslaught of content made a post inevitable. Well done all parties involved; this is a thin line to walk, and usually more than one email about a band looks unprofessional, but this was a well-coordinated attack.
Back to the most important thing: the music. Suckers have indeed signed to the indie hit-maker label extraordinaire Frenchkiss Records, who will release Suckers' debut record Wild Smile on June 8th. To call Suckers a "buzz band" is an understatement. This Brooklyn four piece rose to prominence on the back of a stellar EP released in '09 that garnered raves from top tier publications ranging from Rolling Stone, to NME, to Stereogum. To call Suckers "indie dance-pop" is also an understatement. They find solace in tribal rhythms reminiscent of Tanlines, and catchy sing-along choruses that channel vintage Yeasayer.
Above is their fantastic "NO FUZZ!" take on The Raveonettes' epically fuzzy original "Boys Who Rape (Should All Be Destroyed)" from top Stark album of 2009, In and Out of Control (VICE Music).
Enjoy the track above, and look out for Suckers on tour with label-mates Local Natives. Suckers are part of a STACKED bill tomorrow night (3/10) at Le Poission Rouge featuring perennial favorite Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson and Shilpa Ray and Her Happy Hookers. Highly recommended show.

Raveonettes Offer Up Bonus Track
The Raveonettes are bringing home all the honey...buzz. Bees? (Gob Bluth references here folks.)Want to know who isn't or rather shouldn't be "buzzing" anymore -- The XX, Girls, The Wild Beasts -- the list goes on. Maybe you still deem them worthy of the grossly overused idiom whatever it means, but maybe we don't give a shit anymore. Yeah, we are thinking the latter. The Raveonettes on the other hand, well, after releasing In and Out of Control, they can do no harm in our eyes. Here is a bonus track they released last week along side an indie-retail scheme which hoped to generate physical sales -- if you bought a physical record, you received bonus tracks, nothing special there; well now you perpetuate the downfall of CD sales (that's still happening right?) all the more, as we offer you "The Chosen One" above. Enjoy.
On a side note, look for Lissie show recap and photos from the Mercury Lounge last night coming soon...this is a review you won't want to miss.

New Raveonettes Album - It Just Makes Sense
OK. If you are following me on Twitter, than you know I am having a love affair with the new Raveonettes album, In and Out of Control releasing on Oct. 6 via Vice. Just from the first spin, the first track, I immediately wanted to go back and start again. The hooks, melodies, choruses, instrumental lines, lo-fi recording, production, harmonies -- everything... This album just makes sense. Incorporating electro-back beats on certain tracks, the Raveonettes are going to ravage the end of 2009. Every listen to this album thus far increases its standing on my Best of 2009 list. Something amazing is going on here and I am glad to be apart of it. A must have.

Last Chance for Raveonettes
Don't worry, they're not breaking up. They are just going into recording-induced hibernation, emerging in September with what they hope to be "their best album to date." This album will actually be produced in a studio -- a welcomed departure from past recording forums. Ravers, this is your last chance to catch a live show for some time.
This has been a message brought to you in part by X Sune.

New Sune Rose Wagner Album, Mp3

While The Raveonettes weren't busy releasing unfathomable amounts of Christmas music this year, they actually did write some regular songs, includings those that made up the great Lust, Lust, Lust. And somehow amidst his jam-packed 2008, male-half Sune Rose Wagner even found time to cut a solo album. The self-titled Sune Rose Wagner quietly hit stores yesterday, and we're bringing you an mp3 of the track "Bersuet Og Forhadt", a fuzzy slice of 60's pop. It's sung entirely in Danish, as is the rest of the album, and we're having blast trying to translate it via the powerful tool that is BabelFish. We haven't gotten very far, but we think he's singing something about hats. Dig it! Cover art and tracklist after the jump.

Sune Rose Wagner Tracklisting:
01 Hvad Der Sker
02 Et Underfuldt Liv
03 Afgrunden
04 Altid

Raveonettes REMIXED - Free EP
Stark has long been a favorite of the dark, melodic and fuzzed out sound of the Raveonettes. Their most recent release, Lust Lust Lust left the audiences satisfied, but somewhat unfulfilled. Here to fill in the gaps is a series of free EPs to be released throughout the fall. The first one is available now. See below for details from the press release...FIRST EP AVAILABLE TODAY FOR FREE AT:
