They've Got What We Need...

Quick: Math equation. One Moldy Peach + one punky femme fatale x one one-hit-wonder pop song ÷ one seedy bathroom = the most adorable Internet video you've seen all year! (Or at least today.) Buzzworthy Lissy Trullie and Adam Green got together in the bathroom of Santos Party House before her blistering set that we totally caught a couple weeks ago, and dueted on the 1990's gem "Just A Friend", from the indelible Biz Markie. (Needless to say, we like this version better.)

Check out Trullie on MySpace if you haven't listened yet. She's currently putting the final touches on her debut EP, due out early 2009. It should probably be awesome.

The Spinto Band Goes Live Tomorrow

We know tomorrow is a Saturday and all, but you should probably be huddled in front of your computer screen if you happen to be home. Delaware's great white hopes, The Spinto Band, are playing the inaugural YouTube LIVE event at San Francisco’s Herbst Pavilion in Fort Mason Center. Part concert, part variety show and part party, this thing will probably be off the chain... or at least pretty cool for an Internet concert. And check out who's joining the indie band for the event: folks like Will.I.Am, Akon, Soulja Boy, Katy Perry and a whole lot of celebs ranging from famous to mildly-recognizable. (We think Spinto's inclusion on the bill is kind of strange, but hey, great for them.) The band released a fantastic record in October called Moonwink via Park The Van that you should check out this second. (Grab "Summer Grof" above.) The whole shebang starts at 8pm ET. Julia Nunes Is F*!@ng Adorable

I've got a new obsession, and thy name be Julia Nunes. What started out as an innocent crush has blossomed into an absolute fixation; this girl has got me smitten. After a friend forwarded me a link to her cover of Weezer's "Keep Fishin", I proceeded to watch every single video on her mega-popular YouTube channel, and I've been floored ever since. Her off-kilter voice takes the best parts of a soulful Zooey Deschanel and a childish Kimya Dawson. She makes great use of the ukelele, transforming big popular indie hits into intimate desert island/dorm-room performances. She overdubs herself with perfect harmonies and a kitschy melodica, sometimes with the help of her college roomates and whoever else feels like joining in. She's refreshingly candid and insanely charming, from her infectious smile to her quirky confessions to the camera. You simply can't knock on this girl. She's even parlayed her Internet success into a full-fledged (albeit part-time) solo career, performing her great originals with the likes of none other than Ben Folds. I've included a slew of her covers below. I strongly urge you to check the rest out -- don't blame me if you spend the whole day doing so -- because this girl is a star in the making. In the words of Maeby Funke, "marry me!"

1-2-3-4 Monsters Walking 'Cross the Floor

Leslie Feist does Sesame Street. The pure hilarity of this video was enough for a post. As if you weren't already sick of the song, now you are going to have to deal with your children. Can you imagine it now? A small child in the kitchen with Oshkosh Bgosh corduroy overalls, stomping around screaming "1-2-3-4, I'm done my milk. I want some more" or some variation. Everything is going to be in 4s. 1-2-3-4 knocks on the bedroom door. 1-2-3-4 buy me something from the store. FOUR.

Let's not overshadow the fact that it is or was a great song. But we can take four no more.

Do the D.A.N.C.E

Even Justice can't compete with Matt Harding whose YouTube clip has generated over 4-million views, as reported by the New York Times. Taking place in 69 different locations around the world, Harding is dancing his way into history — wow that was bad. Our major qualm with this video is the music choice (obviously.) There are monumentally better musical tracks to accompany this video. What a great idea though. It kind of reminds me of the chubby Star Wars kid video. Regardless, it's good entertainment.
