Sweden's Wildbirds and Peacedrums are finally making their official US debut with the release of The Snake on August 29th via the Control Group. This electrifying duo has stayed largely under the radar in the US, but received some great press overseas and from various outlets in the US who obtained an import copy. The duo focus upon the intrinsic relationship between vocalist and drummer, rhythmically and melodically. Yet, on The Snake they have expanded their approach to include steel drum, piano, xylophone, marimba, Rhodes and more. Vocalist Mariam Wallentin and percussionist husband Andreas Werliin combine to make music that is extraordinary and unique, taking time to make their expressions both tight and explosive, all in the same moment.
