Azealia Banks "212"

Just to prove we're not just old sappy bitches - here's a killer new song from Harlem 20 year old Azealia Banks. As office guru Jeff pointed out - we think she was on a Major Lazer single awhile back - but this track just SLAYS. Thanks to Chris at Big Hassle for posting to Twitter. Banks has tons of music out there right now, and lots of videos - keep an eye on her.

Azealia Banks Signs to Universal

By far the most written about artist to watch in 2012, Azealia Banks, has inked a deal today with Universal Records. VIA Pitchfork:
"I want to do this thing-- and I don't even really know what the fuck 'this thing' is yet-- but considering how ambitious my ideas are musically, I definitely need a label that will really get it out there. I'm not really scared of major labels. I just want to work where I'm allowed to make mistakes and do my own thing rather than get into a situation where someone else has their own agenda of what they want me to be."

Azealia Banks Drops New Video

Since we posted "212" back in September (yeah, we're that cool) Azealia Banks has been trending towards the status of global superstar and has gotten the most hits in Stark's history. (Pretty sure). While not quite at superstar status yet, she dropped her first video since the seminal "212" offering. Unfortunately, none of these songs have yet to hold a candle to that hook laden area code smash.

A*M*E - Play The Game Boy

I like this. Sometimes we break from our solid Stark-core material. Caught this in our Fader newsletter. While not as immediate as an Azealia Banks or Nicki Minaj - I think there's something here. Amy Kabba (A*M*E) is 17, from South London via Sierra Leone, signed to Universal, and seemingly poised for the big time.

UPDATE: I really like this.
