We just stumbled upon this tidbit over at the Matablog, and we're pretty amped about it. We wrote about Cold Cave's fantastic LP Love Comes Close that recently came out on their own Heatworm Press, but of course, is now sold out. Matador will now reissue this noise inspired synth rock gem on November 3rd.

So, dig this picture for a second, then listen to the mp3. This sort of distorted, hazy, summer-pop seems something more along the lines of Real Estate than the darkly clad Philly band Cold Cave. Cold Cave is a mish-mash of musicians including ex-Xiu Xiu member Caralee McElroy, Max G. Morton, . Benoit, and Dominick Fernow. Their LP Love Comes Close is out now, but don't expect the whole thing to sound this bright. These musicians are known for their darker synth-pop (a la Joy Division/New Order), but you can be assured their sense of melody will still be intact.
