As we drift in a sea awash with noise and distortion, sometimes even hardened bloggers enjoy something crystalline and pretty. Enter Anna Ternheim. While we have yet to hear the whole of her new album, Leaving on a Mayday (August 11, Verve Forecast) this lead track "What Have I Done" is a pleasant, if not a little darker experience. It has a pulsing gait, accentuated with Ternheim's voice and harmonies. Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John produces with a subtle touch giving the track a little edge and just enough bite. While not breaking any musical barriers here I guess this one falls under guilty pleasure, but who doesn't like a little sugar in their coffee?
