Anyone who follows this rag knows we loves us the new record Oh My God Charlie Darwin from Rhode Island's The Low Anthem. While the speculation swirled for a bit, it's finally out there that The Low Anthem have indeed signed to Nonesuch and OMGCD will see release June 9th. The record dips from high falsetto Bon Iver-style ballads, to grungy Tom Waits influenced rockers. Although the two seem juxtaposed on the first few listens, you eventually get used to it and the record becomes an indispensable part of your collection. OMCD could easily find itself in our top albums of the year.
