Jeremy Jay Releases "Slow Dance"

We've been following this shy, baby-faced pop/rock artist for a good bit now, and it's nice to see him really start to get the love he deserves. Jeremy Jay released Slow Dance yesterday on K Records, and it's filled with the nostalgic, yet charming songs we've come to love and expect from Jay. We caught him last year at the Mercury Lounge, and his stylish look and endearing stage presence made up for a sometimes wobbly voice and sloppy guitar work. Despite his imperfections live, we gotta say that his records come off as quite lovely and at times, tender and sad in all the right ways. Jay is an artist whose songs defy specific musical eras. It's best to sit back and imagine these songs playing in whatever setting you please-- be it a high school dance as Pitchfork did, or some gray mid-afternoon March day in New York City.
