Seasick Steve Takeaway Show

Seasick Steve - A Take Away Show - Part 2 from La Blogotheque on Vimeo.

So a while ago, a good English friend tried to turn me onto Seasick Steve. "Everyone in the UK loves him! He plays Glastonbury every year. He's amazing." I think to myself "what do British people know about the blues and Americana music?" Tsk Tsk Mr. Matt. Tsk Tsk. When will I learn? Maybe someday. Seasick Steve, despite being named like a drunk children's singer, is actually, in fact, the shit - and quite a legitimate blues player. Steve's story reads like a Woody Guthrie song. Born in Oakland, CA, Steve has hopped freights, roamed the streets homeless, been a cowboy, a migrant worker, and a carnie. He's suffered a heart attack, plays vintage (like 1800s vintage) personalized instruments, sang a duet with KT Tunstall, been on Jools Holland, and loves The Three String Trance Wonder. He's got several albums out, and has already taken Europe by storm. And now ladies and gentlemen - Seasick Steve.
