So far, we're digging what we've heard from rising Brits Exile Parade. They remind us of a ballsier Oasis with a flair for loud guitars and theatrics. (And they've got a nice buzz and pedigree surrounding them: famed producer Owen Morris, known for his work with Oasis, The Verve and Ash is in their corner.) Dutch indie label Suburban Records will release a few singles from the band in '09, but why wait until then? Grab the rollicking "Heart Into Suicide" mp3 right now -- heard here first -- if you'd like to see what the fuss is about. And while you listen, just try not to imagine it working perfectly as a Rock Band track.

Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid - One of the most stunning albums I’ve ever heard, fantastic live. Very soulful. Starlings is a personal favourite. (Chris - Guitar)

 

MGMT - Oracular Spectacular - One of the few bands that you think could go on to be a cut above the rest. Got a touch of class about it with lyrics that strike a chord with the masses. (Phil - Guitar)

 

Radiohead - In Rainbows - Their second complete masterpiece. The perfect Radiohead record (Dave - Bass)

 

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Dig Lazarus Dig! - Dark, sinister, filthy music. (Dave - Bass)

 

Hot Chip - Made in The Dark - I thought when they first came out into the mainstream - with Over and Over, although a class tune, they might be a bit of a flash in the pan. Due to their massive airplay etc at this time, I think if they had stuck with that sound for the next album it wouldn't have been very exciting. But Made In The Dark was full of really cool experimental songs with a totally different vibe. A bit slower and atmospheric with some great melodies. (Dave - Bass)

Mogwai - The Hawk is Howling - Amazing sound and just purely different to anything else. (Mutchy - Drums)

 

The Fall - Imperial Wax Solvent - You know what you're going to get with Mark E Smith and you know you're going to like it. Furious, idiotic and meaningful. (Phil - Guitar)

 

Metallica - Death Magnetic - Back to their roots, sounding more raw and heavier. (Mutchy - Drums)

 

Morrissey - Greatest Hits. Self explanatory. (Dave - Bass)

Oasis - Dig Out Your Own Soul -  Can't think of anything else. Bag it up is standout track. Also like I’m outta time for some reason, nice chord changes in chorus. (Chris - Guitar)
