Ray Stinnett: 'A Fire Somewhere'

Off the Hype Machine path for a bit... this stark cover caught us at Kim's one day, and after listening to a few bars of the opening track - we picked it up sight "unheard." A lost classic A Fire Somewhere blends San Francisco "hippie" folk, with country, and AM radio soul - all without dipping into the cheese layers of any of the aforementioned styles. A fantastic hidden gem of an album, highly worth of picking up. Unbeknownst to us, Aquarium Drunkard previewed the album in October. Kudos to master reissue label Light in the Attic on this one. Standout track is "Long Rivers Flow" while the below seems to be the popular favorite though.
