New Gaslight Album: 'American Slang'

While their last album The '59 Sound was a little front-loaded, I still consider it one of the best records of last year and a true coming-out for what should be America's next great rock and roll band. The Gaslight Anthem have it all, a Springsteen fetish and a live show that rivals The Clash. Their new album American Slang (June 15, SideOneDummy) will be a true litmus test for this band. While it's not really their sophomore album, almost everyone discovered the band through The '59 Sound. So the pressure of the infamous "follow-up record" falls squarely on American Slang. We have faith though - The Gaslight Anthem can do no wrong.
