Video: Patrick Watson & The Wooden Arms, "Fireweed"

We received Patrick Watson's newest effort, Wooden Arms a while back, but only recently plunged its depths. What originally caught our attention was not only the fact that Watson has toured with Elvis Perkins, The Cold War Kids and Feist, but that he used bicycle parts as a percussive backing, which was inspired by '40's cartoons and The Twilight Zone. The video above for "Fireweed" is beautifully artistic, depicting a man on fire traveling across what looks like the New Zealand country side or maybe something from Cormac McCarthy's The Road. Who knows. The expansive camera work creates landscapes that are accentuated fantastically by the subsequent soundscape of Watson & Co. Watch in HQ and with headphones for full effect.
