Tuesday Night Local NY Concert Pick: The Rollo Treadway, Cortez! Cortez!!

Poster graphic designed by Sean Tice

Tonight, Public Assembly in Brooklyn houses a few great local bands/musicians that are making it happen right now in the smaller clubs around NY. The Rollo Treadway make use of layered, psychedelic-vocal harmonies on top of catchy, single-note bass and guitar lines to create a 60s throwback sound. They still keeping an eye towards the modern indie-rock scene though.

Keeping in the psych/indie mindset are headliners Cortez! Cortez!! We don't know much about these Philly folks, lead by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Barney McKenna, except that they boast a raw sound and are touring behind their recently released EP, 8 for Infinity.

Get there early for The Folksong Revival and Monuments as they round out a pretty solid bill. Keep your eyes open for these bands in your local Philly and NY area. Fist pump to GRZL for giving us the heads up.
